Previously, spider vein treatment (called sclerotherapy) required painful injections along the length of each vein. Now, Desert Med Aesthetics offers the Cutera® CoolGlide™ (1064 Nd: YAG) laser therapy, which delivers pulses of light energy that cause the blood within the vein to coagulate, and the vein to eventually disappear. Unlike sclerotherapy, which may have to be repeated over time, laser therapy permanently removes the vein.
Laser therapy treats both tiny superficial facial veins and deeper blue leg veins for both men and women of all skin tones. Although results are frequently seen immediately for small veins, larger veins may require several treatments spaced over a few weeks.
